[email protected]Hi, I'm Kristy and I live in Pearland, Texas, right outside of
downtown Houston, Texas. I'm married to Steve and we have 4 children, James(24) and his wife Bobbi, Joe(19) who attends LSU in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Josh(18) who attends SLU in Hammond, Louisiana, and the last of the bunch is our only daughter, Shelley who is 12. I am currently a stay at home mom, but have worked in the medical field as an RN since 1974.We are blessed with one house piggy name Gertrude Anne Evans, better known in the pig world as Gertie girl. Gertie was born on Sept. 9, 1997 and is my little pride and joy. I enjoy spending time with her, and teaching her tricks. She loves to go on trips with me. She has been to Georgia to meet pig friends, and she went with me this past fall to Sussex, New Jersey to attend the Sussex County Fair. She travels well. She loves to go to the park. I plan to get her Delta certified in the future.
Other pets we own are Mikey our dog who is aka hyper boy,
he's 11/2 years old. 5 cats: Mike-10 yrs, TomTom-9 yrs,
Milo-8 yrs, Oreo-7 yrs, and Snowball 6 yrs. When I'm not spending time with Mikey and Gertie, we are
usually out on our lake behind our house on our party boat,
or at our lakehouse fishing and swimming, or in the gulf deep
sea fishing or dolphin watching. We love the water, and spend a lot of time on it.I have had the pleasure of meeting Sue Parkinson of Little
Orphan Hammies in Sept 99 for Danish Days and while there
also met Sherry Collier, Jeanne Jennings, Matte Sanders, and Judy Forkner. I attended the Texas pignic in May 99 and met way too many people to list, but made some lifelong friends from it. I have also visited Lynne Boismier's Noahs Ark Potbellied Pig Sanctuary, and also Janet Fines PiggyPals Sanctuary. I also visisted Patti Feagan in Georgia. Gertie was the first real pig she had ever touched. I hope to visit Phyllis Battoes PigPals Sanctuary in fall of 2000, as well as other folks involved in pig rescue.I was born in New Jersey, but moved to the Houston area at age 10. I have lived here since then except for 3 years in Louisiana when Texaco transferred us there four years ago, and now back here. I've loved animals all my life. I used to ride horses and do some rodeos, and have raised ducks, roosters, chickens, & hamsters. I am a great housekeeper, but I hate to cook. I love to garden. Mikey our dog was about 6 weeks old when we found him walking the streets in our subdivision, and we took him in. All of our cats were strays except, Mike the cat and Snowball.
